Language Policy & Planning Scientist

Discription:

We are looking for an intern (beginner, Master, Bachelor) in the fields of language policy and planning, education, humanities, language (English), history, politics, sociology or any other field (Social Sciences or Public Administration) that is socio-linguistics, socio-political or cultural-linguistics oriented, who will be responsible for the studying, comparing, analyzing and reporting findings on differences between the past, current and future development of language in a Historical, Social, Political, Educational, Cultural,  Economic and Global context. Must be acquainted with and comfortable with Dutch Caribbean culture, history and political environment. 

Requirements:

Master’s or Bachelor’s degree or in their final year as  language policy and planning, education, humanities, language (English), history, politics, sociology (or any other related field, i.e. Social Sciences or Public Administration);

– Written and oral proficiency in English is a requirement, Dutch is an advantage;
– Good English communication skills, both written and spoken;
– Strong analytical skills;
– Insightful, accurate, perceptive, etc.;
– Creative and resilient mindset;
– Ability to work independently and in a team;
– Research and analytical reporting skills;
– You are self-sufficient, proactive, curious and a problem solver;
– Strong interpersonal and good communication skills with the ability to work effectively.

Responsibilities:

– Studying, comparing, analyzing and reporting findings on differences past, current and future development of language in a Historical, Social,  Political, Educational, Cultural, Economic and Global context;
– Reporting  using MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word.
